Back in New York, I had cigarettes and coffee for breakfast, a martini for lunch, and take-out for dinner. Now, I make my own muesli, practice yoga daily, profess an undying love for fresh spinach, and run four miles without panting like a dog. How did I change my habits and leap from one extreme to the other? I studied up, got smart, and committed to change.
In no small way, it has changed my life. I’m happier, thinner, more energetic, sleep soundly, and have a more positive outlook, overall. The adage is true: we are what we eat—and my former diet looked downright ugly.
If your diet could stand a makeover, I can help. In addition to writing about health and nutrition, I coach men and women on how to eat for better nutrition, weight loss, and vitality. I also work with clients who suffer from allergies and other ailments, such as IBS and lactose intolerance, to tweak their diet and stop their suffering. To help my clients solve their health (and waistline) woes, I share little-known, science-based secrets about food, digestion, and the body—not the same old stuff you’ve already read, heard, and tried.
The food we eat has a direct impact on our weight, energy, brain function, productivity, sleep patterns, fertility, quality of life, and overall health. Because the consequences of our diet are so far-reaching, I use a holistic approach. Through personal, one-on-one sessions—at the grocery store or in the kitchen—I teach clients how to discern “diet” foods from the delicious foods that nourish the body, satisfy cravings, and slim the figure. Together, we devise a plausible, easy-to-follow diet strategy that considers their needs, taste, and lifestyle.
Here are some of my clients’ most common concerns:
If I’m eating diet food, why can’t I lose weight?
I’m too busy to eat healthy food.
I can’t lose weight, regardless of my diet. What am I doing wrong?
What produces gas? How do I get rid of it?
Why doesn’t the food I’m eating give me energy?
Should I eat many little meals throughout the day, or just three big ones?
What times of day should I eat?
My stomach is upset after almost every meal. What’s wrong?
What foods should I combine for optimal nutrition?
Am I getting enough vitamins from my food?
Whether you’re a time-crunched professional, a busy mom, a McDonald’s addict, or an athlete, I can help you see food in a totally fresh light. I’ll raid your fridge, go grocery shopping, impart science-based nutrition knowledge, and offer you support in weak moments. Call me when you have a craving.
I’m available for in-person consultations with clients in the Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas of New Mexico.
